Alice Allen tells us why access to finance for women is a means to end poverty and economically empower women.
Alice Allan is Head of Advocacy and Policy at CARE International UK. She is currently building support for the Linking for Change Savings Charter, a set of international principles designed to help banks responsibly connect to informal savings groups. Barclays, Accenture, Airtel and Fidelity bank are amongst the current signatories. Prior to joining CARE she worked at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office where she co drafted the UK Business and Human Rights Toolkit. Alice has also worked for a number of other NGO’s including Amnesty International, spent time as a journalist in Colombia and Mexico and as a researcher in the UK Parliament.
